The 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei GT2HR Recruitment Fair for Global Talent, a special session of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), took place at Shougang Park in Beijing on Sept 14.
The event showcased Beijing's environment for international talent development, attracting young people from around the world to prosper together within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Also at the conference, the Beijing Overseas Talents Center, in collaboration with international business associations based in the capital, launched the International Youth Career Development Promotion Initiative, which will facilitate internships, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people from countries including France, Germany, Japan and Singapore.
The first batch of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Foreign Talent Service Work Bases was inaugurated at the conference.
The event featured three main exhibition areas: the International Young Talents Reception Area, the International City Experience Services Area and the Policy Introduction Area.
The International Young Talents Reception Area was bustling with activity, with 30 employers from institutions such as the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, Beijing Institute of Open Source Chip, Tianjin University and North China Electric Power University offering 467 international posts and reaching 122 preliminary hiring agreements.
The International City Experience Services Area focused on the work and life needs of young people from abroad, addressing concerns related to government consultations, employment internships, legal advice and travel.
The Global Network for Innovation Services (GNIS) International Liaison Area, the Regional Collaborative Cooperation Area and the International Cultural Exchange Area also showcased open and inclusive international talent policies, brand activities and cultural exchange achievements from different regions.
In the Policy Introduction Area, means to facilitate setting up business in Beijing were explained, which included the "Study in Beijing+" initiative, policies regarding internships, employment and visa processing for foreign students, as well as updates on the city’s business environment and investment promotion measures.
Nearly 300 young people from countries including Australia, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Pakistan, South Korea and the United Kingdom attended the event.
